Optical sensing technology is essential, especially for industrial applications, because it has great accuracy and high resolution, and is free from EMI noise. Fiber sensors, one of the most important optical sensors, have the additional advantage that they are flexible and fit for remote sensing. We study optical sensing for strain, temperature, pressure, electric and magnetic fields etc including interferometry.
